Lerule-Ramakhanya’s final (fun) walk in Vhembe

 

The executive mayor of Vhembe, Cllr Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya, bade her farewell to her colleagues, employees and the community by engaging in a fun-walk that she organized.

Last Friday morning, she led a 10km fun walk that started from the entrance of Vhembe District Municipality offices via Thohoyandou Technical School, Phangami Shopping, Fhulufhelo Special School, Tshiluvhi Primary School, Thohoyandou Town Hall and then supported the sports programmes such as early childhood development games, employee wellness programmes, golden games, Special Olympics games and other sports programmes.

Before the start of the fun-walk, Lerule-Ramakhanya, members of her MMC and every person who participated were screened for healthy fitness by the nurses from the Department of Health.

As if she was saying good-bye to the people who attended, she also took pictures with different groups of people who were waiting for the start of the fun-walk.

After completing the fun-walk, which also involved disabled people, Lerule-Ramakhanya thanked everybody who participated and encouraged them to continue exercising on regular basis as it is encouraged by Pres Cyril Ramaphosa.

Vhembe’s Chief Whip, Cllr Fridah Nkondo and Msuina Local Municipality Chief Whip, Cllr Fistos Mafela, also participated in the fun-walk.

* Shortly before our going to press, it was reported that Lerule-Ramakhanya was announced as the new Speaker of the Limpopo Legislature.
