Phindulo makes it to semis of Miss Limpopo

Phindulo Mphilo (20), a second-year public relations student at the University of South Africa, has been selected as one of the 40 semi-finalists among 300 entries for the Miss Limpopo Province pageant.

Phindulo, who resides at Madombidzha village, said that she had prepared herself well beforehand and that was why her being selected among the top finalists did not come as a surprise to her.

“I told myself to put in extra effort and be dedicated, so that I could also be selected as a finalist and make my village proud,” she said. “So many beauty pageants are being held today and, unfortunately, the crowning ceremony is where the experience ends. With the Miss Limpopo Province pageant, it is a different story. It presents a platform that aims to instil a spirit of giving back and uplifting communities as a way of life.”

Phindulo started modelling in 2017 and has so far accumulated eight beauty titles, namely Miss Madombidzha Arsenal 2nd princess (2017), Miss Waterval 2nd princess (2018), Miss Personality FOC (2018), Miss Western GP Queen (2019), Miss Sinthumule Kutama 1st princess (2019), Miss Tshwane Region fourth runner-up (2020), Miss Face of Courageous 2nd princess (2021) and Miss Grand Glamour Queen (2021). She says she looks forward to adding another one before the end of the year.

Phindulo, who is also an excellent self-taught make-up artist, said that she was set on empowering young women and men through various programmes, advocating healthy living and good behaviour in society as part of her assignment by the Miss Limpopo Province pageant.

“As finalists in this pageant, we are assigned to carry out some charitable deeds,” she said. “I am therefore requesting any help to further my assignment. This can be in the form of stationary and sanitary pads of any brand, but covered by the colour pink.”
