Lim 345 to meet with traditional leaders

The mayor of Lim 345, Cllr Joyce Bila, and traditional leaders will meet on Monday (16 October) for the mayor/ tihosi forum meeting.

The meeting will take place at the Malamulele Boxing Gymnasium and will start at 10:00.

The acting manager of communication services, Mr Moss Shibambu, said some of the aims of the forum included boosting service delivery within communities and strengthening effective social cohesion and ubuntu (togetherness) between the government and local traditional leaders.

According to him, the forum will not only let traditional leaders know what the municipality is doing, but will also give them opportunity to participate in the development of the municipality. The forum will also help to boost the good relationship between the municipality and the traditional leaders regarding the jurisdiction of the municipality.

“One of the roles of the traditional leaders is to assist the municipality to identify the people’s needs. Therefore, it is important to keep them informed of what is happening in the municipality. The forum will also ensure that the land is used properly, so that the communities can benefit from the land,” added Shibambu.

The event will be attended by tihosi, tihosana, councillors and other invited guests.
