Pastor Steven releases a book of encouragement

Read: 680

Pastor Steven Mathelemusa has just released his first motivational book, called You are born for a purpose.

Mathelemusa leads the Bible Mission Church’s Ramavhoya branch in the Nzhelele area and is also a businessman. He says that people might find the book worth the read as it carries anecdotes from his own personal life experiences.

“It was not easy for me to write a book like this one. It’s not exactly the kind of book anyone expects from a pastor,” he said. “I wrote this book to impact the lives of people from all age groups in terms of figuring out the importance of decision making, and also the issue of self-encouragement when they are in the midst of challenges.”

He says that facing challenges is normal and that everybody goes through these at some point in life. “What matters is how you react to what you are going through. I noticed that many people fail to make good decisions because of a lack of knowledge, and they fail to account for their choices. This book will act as a basis for them to know that the decisions we make today will determine what tomorrow holds for us.”

He says that the decisions people make are inter-related. “They depend on each other, for example, ‘I’m indirectly deciding to suffer’. Self-encouragement is also included in decision making because when you encourage yourself, you will decide to do something, and with a positive attitude. I succeed in both running a business and writing because I am a hard worker. I make sure that whenever I’m not busy at my business, I think of what I can write about,” he said. “I will find time to write, even when I have a lot of other work to do, because there is this burning desire for writing inside me.”

He told Limpopo Mirror that he nearly gave up at one point while he was writing the book. Were it not for the encouragement of a few people who had pushed him to carry on, he said, he might have never finished it.
