Emerging hip-hop and Venrap musician Rendani Treasure Luvhimbi, or RamJay as he is known in the entertainment industry, vows to fill up the Masia Show Grounds with a music audience before the end of this year.

“It might sound funny to some, but I am very sure that I will achieve this, because I have a very big fan base. When you are loved and appreciated by your fans, you do not have any doubts about your success, because you know that the support is already there,” said the artist, who hails from Ha-Masakona village.

RamJay started singing when he was only 11 years old and explained that music had been a part of his everyday life ever since. “Even my peers realized that I had a special talent for music when we were young. My friends would always ask me to sing for them whenever we were playing. Afterwards they would cheer and plead for more because they really enjoyed listening to me singing. I realized later that singing might just be a great opportunity for me to make a living, and I started to nurture my talent,” he said.

RamJay shot into stardom when he released his debut single, Put that work, featuring his friend and fellow artist Batondy. “The song was so famous that it enjoyed regular airplay on local and national radio stations. That encouraged me to really work hard. I released my second single, Likholwa, in 2016, which did even better than Put that work and fans just loved me,” he said.

In 2018, he released his third single, titled Sarafina, which also became the talk of the town. His latest track, Mafhungo a Vhathu, was released in October last year (2021) and is still a hit among music lovers. He is currently working on a full album that should be released by October this year.

RamJay’s plans to fill up the Masia Show Grounds later in the year involves joining the stage with famous fellow artists such as Solly Makamu and Batondy. “We will also give young, aspiring artists the opportunity to promote themselves.”

RamJay can be reached on 079 795 2444 (voice calls and WhatsApp) or on email [email protected].
