Zim music producer thankful for SA hospitality

Read: 1509

Migrants sometimes find integrating into their host communities difficult, but this was not the case for Knowledge Chisutu, a Zimbabwean man who came to South Africa in 2009.

Chisutu is very thankful to have met the Musina community, who had no qualms to accept him in their midst. “I started my music career as some sort of funny entertainer, but I later met other people in Matswale with the same ideas and we took it to another level,” said Chisutu, better known as Hardknox HDK.

At his One Love Records studio, Chisutu previously worked with co-producer Simplex, but he now teams up with Sparkles Wrld. He is currently working with four other artists, including Mcdee Madhara, whose hit song Mama Africa’s music video was aired by the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Cooperation. Madhara is continuously producing hit after hit.

Chisutu and Sparkles Wrld do not only work on specific music genres, but graze a wide, open field. He said that the national lockdown had also forced them to think outside the box, and they resorted to using social media platforms to get their work out in the open.

The best advice he can offer would-be producers or musicians is to focus on their dreams.

Those interested in Chisutu’s music production can contact him on 065 195 1890 or follow him on his Facebook page (One Love Records) and on Instagram.
