My poems could be life changing, says Gundo

Read: 1010

“Pen and paper relieve me from any kind of stress I might be going through,” said Mbambala Muguvhana Gundo, an 18-year-old learner from Eltivillas.

Gundo, affectionately known as ‘Guffy thee Poet’, says he fell in love with poetry when he was still a sixth grader. “Though I really loved to be a poet at that young age, I could not produce audio poems. I only started writing audio poems in 2016,” Gundo said. He has written 50 poems thus far, of which four have been recorded as audio poems.

Gundo’s poems warn people about the consequences of love. “Love is a major disease,” Gundo warns. “People do not realize how it can destroy souls. Reading my poems will strengthen these broken souls.”

When asked why he had decided to embark on poetry, Gundo explained, “I think poetry is great work, since it helps a lot of people when they are emotionally stressed. As poets we write mostly what we go through in our lives. Some readers may face the same situation and the poem could be good therapy.”

Gundo believes his poems are life changers. He can be followed on his Facebook page (GUFFY THEE POET) or contacted on WhatsApp at Tel 065 933 5781 for an audio version of this poems.
