A beautiful drawing of Phalaphala FM’s Vhandilani (morning drive) presenters (see photograph) is the work of Jakie Ntavhanyeni Madide, who was exposed to drawing from a young age.
The upcoming fine artist from Tshiungani in Niani area is eager to make a name for himself in the art industry, and when he picks up a paper and pencil, eye-catching art is created.
The 23-year-old is enchanting people with his drawings. He says drawing is a part of his life and he cannot live without it. "To me, art is more than just a daily practice. I have been drawing my life, but I started taking drawing seriously last year in December."
The self-taught artist specialises in portrait art. He says that creating beautiful art needs patience, time, discipline, and creativity. He draws inspiration from local artists Bono Siaga and Ennok M.
He dreams about seeing one of his works in a museum someday. "I also want see myself owning an art gallery and showcasing my artwork around the world," he says.
He is currently studying for a diploma in computer networking at the Central University of Technology. He can be reached on 082 503 6260.
