Dreams do come true, and 16-year-old Shane Tshikotshi is delighted to have finally achieved a dream he has nurtured since a very young age.
He recently published his first motivational book, Live an extraordinary life. This book aims to improve the lives of young people who have lost hope in life, as well issues affecting young people.
The young author from Mubvumoni says, “this book will encourage the readers, especially the youth, never to give up on their dreams, regardless of unfavourable conditions. I touch on sensitive issues that will provoke readers to get up and start working towards their success. This was deliberately done to ignite the fire of passion towards achieving one’s dream. The main objective is to motivate and encourage those who have lost direction in life”.
He told this paper that this book would motivate and inspire a soul undergoing the stress of wondering where their next meal would come from or a soul suffering from depression, anxiety, and bullying.
"Regardless of our unpleasant past, we must not allow anything to stop us from reaching our goals. In fact, when we come to this world, we were all given strength and capacity to succeed, regardless of the circumstances that we face every day. We were all born with a gift or talent, and it is our duty to discover those talents. Life is a long journey that consists of joy and sorrow," he said.
"The world is full of people who are ignoring their true self and comforting themselves by copying others. This is more like emotional suicide. As a person, God has created you for a reason, so live your own unique life," he said.

The 22-year-old Mbulaheni (Gary) Ridovhona has been passionate about journalism to the extent that he would buy himself a copy of weekly Univen students' newsletter, Our Voice. After reading, he would write stories about his rural village, Mamvuka, and submit them to the very newsletter for publication. His deep-rooted love for words and writing saw him register for a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies at the University of Venda, and joined the Limpopo Mirror team in February 2016 as a journalism intern.
