“Be strong during difficult times”

Read: 1902

After five years in the making local author Avhafarei Swuhana has finally released her first book, Rock of ages - revealing your inner strength.

Born and bred in Miluwani, the 33-year-old Swuhana said the book contained everlasting and concrete solutions to people's everyday problems and encouraged them to have mental strength, hard as a rock, so that they can deal with difficulties revolving around them. “It encourages them to keep believing that nothing lasts forever and reveals how strong a person can be through the Word of God. It also speaks about overcoming past situations that people somehow struggle to let go of and goes to an extent of teaching people to accept loss and the book encourages them to endure hardships,” she said.

The love and sympathy she has for people pushed her to write this book. “Being around people and realising how they struggle to understand that life is much more precious to give up easily and also my own experiences in life encouraged me to pen this book,” she said.

Her ultimate goal for the book is to reach many readers. “I want this book to reach even those outside South Africa. I want to hear people testifying that the book changed their lives. It does not matter how many people, but just one life is much more important to change through this book,” she said.

The mother of one said that she was planning to launch the book in April. She is currently working at the South African National Defence Force. She can be reached on 082 643 0092.
