Pens Down a festive music affair

The artists set Mphephu Resort alight with their sterling performances despite a rainy Saturday evening during the inaugural Pens Down Annual Festival.

The event started quite well, with people striding into the resort with great anticipation for an afternoon and evening of music, but the rain that started pouring down put a slight damper on the festivities. The dark clouds, however, lifted later in the day and those who had braced the rain could enjoy the musical extravaganza.

“We would like to thank all people who had made it to the festival, and also those who wished to come but couldn't do so due to the unexpected rainfall,” said VCC Music's managing director, Mr Tshilidzi Bobodi.

The event aimed to celebrate all students who had sat for the end-of-year examinations in the province, with more focus on Grade 12s and was organised and hosted by VCC Music, a company that aims to uplift and build the youth in Vhembe District.

The artists who mesmerised the people included Master KG, Makhadzi, Fizzy, Geenkon, Hustler Crew, Kid Money, King Tippy, Kayway, Young Rich and Team ngamafhi.

VCC Music are the creators of the successful Maskot and Kidz Festival, which takes places every year in September.

“We look forward to the next leg of the festival, come 2020,” Bobodi said.
