Pfano Bebeda's art is unique

Read: 1500

"At an early age I used to wonder why I loved art and designs so much, not knowing that they would become my passion. So, now I find art as something that only requires playing with your imagination."

These are the words of a mesmerizing self-taught artist and fashion designer, Pfano Bebeda (29), from Tshandama outside Thohoyandou.

Bebeda said that in 2014 he started to focus more on artwork because he loved it and he wanted to inspire others to do art.

When he realized that his passion for art was growing, in 2016, he decided to start a brand called AB Design, which designs wooden products such as watches, bags, furniture and eyewear. "It all started as a hobby, because I used to carve things out of wood. I then decided to register a company that deals with artwork," he said.

"Our product is made to be unique and amazing. High quality, longer, distinct texture, affordable and better packaging are our main competitive pillars. We don’t aspire to be all things to all people. Our primary motivation is to design products that are unique as we are different. Our collections are inspired by different types of wood and the texture that wood brings as it is unique," he said.

He further said that in the next few years he wanted to see himself owning stores that sold designer wooden products around South Africa.

Art is a full-time job to him and he markets his products on social media. He can be reached on 079 042 2000 or write to [email protected]. He is also available on Instagram and Facebook at artist bebeda.
