Princess Lutendo releases her debut poetry album

Read: 1762

A poet who has been mesmerising literature and music lovers with her poems and music for years, Princess Lutendo, has just released her début poetry collection compact disk, entitled Poetic Session One.

This selection of word-on-sound comprises nine poems and a song, which all are amazing in verse and rhythm. The song is Ahuna, and the poems are People talk poem, My Love poem, Stop woman abuse, Madichaba, HIV/AIDS, Mudzimu, Muthu, and Take courage.

“I believe that poetry is a multi-faceted art form, which serves a wide range of purposes in society,” she said. “If accompanied by sound or music, poetry finds its way smoothly into the heart and rests there. I hold the viewpoint that poetry serves as therapy and counselling at the same time. If that's not the case with every poem ever written or recited, then most of my poems do achieve that.”

She added that Poetic Session One is an inspirational, motivational and uplifting work of art. With Princess Lutendo, words create sweet melodies to mend broken hearts and bring hope to the hopeless. “When your life is fraught with challenges and everyone else has left you, you always need a reliable and comfy shoulder to lean on, and the poems on this CD serve exactly that purpose,” she said.

Princess Lutendo uses her talent to enlighten hundreds of poetry lovers and those who happen to listen to her reciting her poems. She had previously released a poetry single, A woman, which also received massive airplay on radio stations.

She holds a BA honours degree in Geology from the University of Venda. She resides at Thohoyandou. She is available on Facebook and can be reached on 084 568 1816, or [email protected].
