A local upcoming gospel singer, Mpho Munyai (32), took a giant step towards unleashing his music talent when he recently released his debut album, U Hothe Hothe Murena.
The 15-track album will be launched soon at the Vhangani International Assemblies of God.
Munyai, who hails from Dzundeni village, started singing at the age of eight. Some of the songs on the album are: Ha Notshonisi Murena, Vuwa Mbilu, Wo Mpfuna Murena, Yeso Wanga Uya Nndwela, and Ngiya Bonga.
He said the song U Hothe Hothe Murena meant that God was everywhere. "No matter what you are facing in life, God will always be with you. I wrote the song at the time I was swimming in the midst of misery, where I was rejected by some musicians, not knowing I have what it takes to be one of the greatest worshipers of the Word of God," he added.
He believes that the album will lift the listener's spirit to trust God. "This album will raise the trust and faith to trust God in anything and they shall never be the same," he added. He features his friends James Mathonsi and Thelma Tintswalo on the album.
He was the winner of Rhengu the Psalmist Talent Search in 2017. He aspires to be a prominent gospel artist one day. "I also wish to be nominated in the gospel awards with this album," he said.
