The evergreen, multi-award-winning gospel singer Mercy Masakona Madzivhandila is celebrating her talent with fans, friends and music lovers.

The celebration takes the form of the launch of her latest album, Tshilangano, which will be launched at a dinner party to be held at the Univen Cafeteria on 17 February.

“I am excited about the launch of my CD as it forms part of celebrating my musical talent,” she said. “Sometimes we just sing or create other artistic pieces of great value and wait for other people to celebrate us. We need to create that space and time to celebrate ourselves.”

Mercy Masakona Madzivhandila is an award-winning and professional musician who lives at Lwamondo. She started singing at the age of eight in Sunday school sessions as a chorus leader. “That’s where I realised that I had the potential of contributing to the community through music,” she said.

She has so far released a number of albums, ever since she debuted with Yeso wa Vhuthu in 1998. Mercy's album that cemented her career in the music industry is Ha Shanduki (2015).

She is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in South Africa.

The event is organised and hosted by Pilgrim Events Management, in association with Mercy Masakona Events. The entry fee is R100 at the door. For more information, phone 083 479 3834 or 082 630 8008.
