A local model and student, Ms Phoebe Mphahlele (21), was recently selected as a semi-finalist in the Miss Eagle South African beauty contest.
She is a B Com student at the University of Limpopo and hails from Ga-Mphahlele Seleteng.
According to the vibrant Mphahlele, Miss Eagle South Africa “is a contest based on beauty with brains and purpose. Not only does it empower women and those outside it, it helps contestants to build their personal brands.”
As a semi-finalist, she is the brand ambassador of Motofind.co.za. The site enables individuals to sell and buy cars fast, safely and at best prices.
Between her studies and different other ventures, Phoebe is also an upcoming author and she is at present writing a book. “My book is about battling through change as a young South African. It is based on the transformation of being a high school learner into a university student, and how, through it all, one should be their own hero to succeed.”
The title of the book will be War of Growth. She added that there is no fantasy like in movies, and it highlights how everyone should be their own hero to succeed.
She also mentioned that the Miss Eagle South Africa contest has and still is encouraging her to put smiles on people's faces by giving back to the community, motivating her peers and growing to her potential. “I became passionate about seeing people happy because of my doings; that’s just led to more blessings coming my way. Now more people see potential and engage in helping me reach my dreams,” she added

With a successful roots-reggae album titled “Shandukani” to his name, Fhatuwani Richard Mashele is quickly becoming a household name in South African music. Better known as Jah Saint in music circles, Mashele believes that success does not come overnight and that one must work hard to earn it.
Khathutshelo Dzaga from Thohoyandou Block G, known as Khathu within music circles, has captivated her fans with her latest song, “Muvhonetsheli”. The song is a collaboration with Uber Black and features Racha Kill. The song is in Khathu’s familiar style, often described as a mixture of amapiano and Afro-beat.
“Music should help address societal issues that are affecting the community,” says house musician Meshack Nemakhavhani, better known as Mesh De Vocalist. The musician from Tshaulu Buluni has released a new album, titled “Mbilu I Khombo”.
Musician and actor Mpho Majiga is quickly emerging as the next king of disco on the South African music scene. The position became available after the passing of the late, self-styled king of disco, the legendary Dan Tshanda.
