GR Flame on Chitaela Fhedzi

Gift Rambuwani is popularly known as GR Flame and is famous for his hit single Chitaela Fhedzi, which loosely translates as We go for style only.

The young singer, Gift Rambuwani (21), is a hip-hop artist from Madombidzha Zone 2, and is also referred to as Western.

He started singing in 2009 when he released his first single at just at the age of 13, entitled If you have the Lord, you can live together, and since then he has released singles such as Mudzimu wanga, Roduma, and Tsetsetse.

However, he has since popularised himself  even more with his hit single that has been playing on local radio stations, including Phalaphala FM, Univen FM and Makhado FM.

His favourite artists are Lil Wayne, Eminem and mentor artist T-Unique. “My dream is to collaborate with various well-known artists in South Africa and Africa as a whole,” he said. “I am currently working as a cook at the fast-food section of a popular supermarket in Louis Trichardt.”

“People have been supporting my music more than I expected, and I appreciate their support,” he said.

GR Flame is set to host his music launch on 31 March at Bush Valley Gardens, starting with a pre-party on 30 March at Jericho Hotel/Resort.

The launch will include various other well-known artists, such as Alingo, Bhamba, Makhadzi, and King Monada (others still to be confirmed). At least 50% of the proceeds made during the launch will be divided in two categories, and 25% will be allocated to buy school uniforms for needy children and 25% donated to charity.
