Tumi-B’s popularity in the music industry was recognized when she won the Best Newcomer award during the tenth SABC Crown Gospel Awards which was held at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre in Durban a fortnight ago.
Her album, I Trust, enabled her to reap the rewards. She was pinned against DCC Worship (Overflow), Ayanda Shange (The Praise Altar), Smavat (Khangelani) and Secret of Worship (Awesome Father).
The 32-year-old Tumi-B from Nzhelele was born Boitumelo Sejeng. She started singing at the age of 6. She has been inspired by her mother, the gospel legend Rejoice Mukumela.
Speaking to Limpopo Mirror, she said that said she was happy to have won the award. “Winning the award is just by the grace of God. This achievement is one step into an ocean of blessings that God has set aside for me. I am truly honoured and looking forward to what God has in store for the Uncapped Ministry,” she added.
She believes in inspiring people to live a life of abundance, seeking always to go deeper into their own potential and to connect to the source of life within.
