In his latest song Fhasi nau via, Justice Mbedzi, well known as Just-Ice, strongly condemns ritual murders and the recent shocking incidents of grave vandalisation.
The 31-year-old reggae musician from Tshipise tsha Sagole recently released a single album with four tracks, and his hit song Fhasi nau via (meaning ritual murders must stop) seems to be everyone's favourite.
In his lyrics he says “they are now selling body parts like game meat.” He goes on to advise people who want to get rich to work and stop killing people for their body parts. He also encouraged other artists to stand up and fight against this bad behaviour.
Just-Ice, who is famous for his hit song Usongo mphira murena, said he was inspired by local reggae legends Colbert Mukwevho, Shufflers Ragimana, the late Lucky Dube and reggae king Bob Marley. He also described his journey in the music industry as a hard one as he didn’t have money to record his first album.
Just-Ice also holds a certificate in music and he is currently working as an office administrator at SAMRO and Nambi dza devhula in Thohoyandou. People interested in his music can follow him on Facebook @ Rungani Mbedzi Just-ice or buy his music at the SAMRO office in Thohoyandou or at Jet music store in the Thavhani Mall.
