Some people are saying that kwaito music is deteriorating in South Africa and some of the artists have therefore vowed to bring back the lost spark in the music.
Lutendo Kenneth Mudau, popularly known as Not Guilty, recently released his third album, entitled I love kwaito, which is another milestone in his music career, and he said that he was very excited about his new album.
Mudau (34) hails from Miluwani Unit C in Thohoyandou. He said that he had started singing when he was still in primary school, partaking in the choirs. He said that he was inspired by the kwaito hits of the legendary kwaito groups.
“When I was at secondary level, I was inspired by the groups Alaska and Trompies. I then joined a mapantsula group at Miluwani Unit C,” he added.
His debut album, Kwaito is Kwaito, was released in 2013 and recorded by Masana Records, and the second album was entitled Pantsula la Venda, which was released in 2015.
His new album consists of 10 tracks. It includes tracks such as Kwaito, Zwakale, featuring Jininka and Nditshe Mutuku. He said the fans would find maturity in his music. “You will have a great transformation in your life after listening to this new album,” he added.
He also said that he planned to nurture and groom young talent. “They are the future of this industry, so they should be groomed to produce quality music.”
The album is available at Dakota Music in Thohoyandou at R70 per copy. For more information, phone his manager on 076 225 6435.
