In court for illegal possession of explosives

A Zimbabwean man travelling in a taxi from Zimbabwe to South Africa was arrested at Beit Bridge Border Post in the early hours of Thursday morning, 21 November, after several pieces of explosives were found in his possession.

The taxi he was travelling in was stopped for a routine search of all passengers and a sniffer dog of the Beit Bridge K9 Unit reacted positively to the luggage of the man. During a thorough search of his luggage, 30 pieces of explosives, without detonators, were discovered.

The suspect, Nkosintahi Ndlovu, was arrested and appeared in the Musina Magistrate's Court for the illegal possession of explosives. His case was postponed to 28 November for further investigation. Ndlovu will remain in custody until his next appearance. Further investigations continue.
