Home Defenders top in Tshipota games

Gogobole Home Defenders were crowned as champions of the ET Tshipota Electrical Contractor soccer challenge after beating Gogobole Bucs 6-4 at Gogobole on Sunday.

Early in the first half of the match, two players of Bucs, Thomas Mhlongo and Tuwiseni Mulaudzi, were cautioned with yellow cards. The two cards did not dampen their fighting spirit as they were attacking from all corners of the field. The wheel of fortune turned against Defenders in the 49th minute. Their defender, Calvin Ramusheu, failed to stop the ball and Steve Ramalivha scored easily.

The technical staff of the visiting team could not forgive him for the blunder and he was replaced with Tshishonga Tshishonga. Defenders' equaliser was scored by Phethani Sikhwivhilu from a free kick.

After the goal, Defenders regrouped and started to dictate terms. They were led by their midfield link man, Phethani Sikhwivhilu. They raided the Bucs’ danger area continuously, but Lady Luck was not on their side. They tried to "walk" the ball into the net, but the Bucs defence was rock solid.

The home team then introduced Fhulu Ramabulana for Vila Ndwambi, but it did not change the complexion of the match and the game finished without any more excitement.
