Promotion for Young Santos?

 

The much-awaited SAB League provincial promotional play-offs will be staged at the Giyani Stadium this weekend.

Five teams representing the Safa regions in Limpopo will take part in the two-day event. Teams that will participate are: Mukula Young Santos (Vhembe), Sekhukhune Arsenal (Sekhukhune), Bilika All Stars (Mopani), Boys Young Tigers (Capricorn) and A1 Terrors (Waterberg).

Mukula Young Santos, on whom the Vhembe Regional Association has pinned its hopes, will take on A1 Terrors in their first match tomorrow morning  at 10:00. Their second match will be against Boys Young Tigers from Capricorn Region and is scheduled to kick off at 14:00. Should Santos manage to win both their matches tomorrow, they will need only three points from the two matches they will play on Sunday.

On Sunday, Santos will play against Sekhukhune Arsenal (12:00) and Bilika All Stars at 16:00. The coach of Young Santos, Mr Eric “Taylor” Nevhutanda, is adamant his team will represent the region well in the play-offs. He indicated that the players were physically and psychologically ready for the weekend’s matches.

According to Nevhutanda, they had played a number of friendly matches during the past month as part of their preparations for the event. Some of the players that Young Santos will pin their hopes on for goals include Humphrey “Mandoza” Takalani, Jacob Ramudzuli and Sharlen Munyamela.

Tomorrow’s full fixtures are: Bilika All Stars vs Boys Young Tigers (08:00), A1 Terros vs Mukula Young Santos (10:00), Sekhukhune Arsenal vs Bilika All Stars (12:00), Mukula Young Santos vs Boys Young Tigers (14:00) and Sekhukhune Arsenal vs A1 Terrors (16:00).

Sunday's matches are: Sekhukhune Arsenal vs Boys Young Tigers (08:00), Bilika All Stars vs A1 Terrors (10:00), Mukula Young Santos vs Sekhukhune Arsenal (12:00), Boys Young Tigers vs A1 Terrors (14:00) and Mukula Young Santos vs Bilika All Stars (16:00).

The Vhembe Region was represented by Joe Express last year.
