Murder suspect may have taken own life by jumping in front of train at Bela-Bela

A fourth-year student nurse suspected of killing a 25-year-old woman at the Giyani Nursing College may have committed suicide by jumping in front of a moving train near Bela-Bela in Limpopo.

The body of the 29-year-old Chuene Mosethi, a nursing student at Giyani, was found by the police in Bela Bela. He was wanted in connection with the death of Twanano Bilankulu (25) of Giyani section F. The decomposed body of Bilankulu was found after students alerted the authorities to the fact that a foul smell was coming from a locked room. After investigations, the body was discovered in a student’s room under the bed.

Bilankulu was not a student, but the police are investigating the possibility that she was Mosethi's girlfriend.

According to the police spokesperson, Col Ronel Otto, the body of the woman was found with an open wound. Otto said the suspect was from Mahwelereng and it seems as if he had fled the area to hide in Gauteng.

A student at the Giyani Nursing College, Victor Molegwa, said the suspect was a quiet person who didn't talk a lot and never seemed to pose a danger to anyone. “We are shocked by what had happened on our campus and I would like to encourage other students to speak out if they are having problems, especially with their girlfriends,” said Molegwa.
