Two good victories for Blue Eagles

Last weekend was a joyful one for Muziafera Blue Eagles. They collected six league points in their two MMK Administrators League matches. They beat Langutani Blue Birds 3-1 at the Langutani grounds on Saturday and walloped Obert Ministries Fighters 5-0 at the Ratshikwekwete grounds the following day.

The game against Obert Ministries Fighters looked balanced in the first 20 minutes, but the visitors from Mangondi village lost their original fighting spirit with time. The home side opened their account 25 minutes into the game. This after they were awarded a free kick just outside the penalty box. Lufuno Munyai beat the keeper with a ground cutter.

Realizing that their scoring chances were slim, Fighters introduced their Rastafarian striker, Madyisa Nkuna, and sacrificed Kurisani Chauke. The move was suicidal as Nkuna did not live up to the fans’ expectations. Nkuna proved that it was not his day when he unleashed aimlessly from the edge of the box with the Eagles’ keeper already beaten.

Blue Eagles were two goals up when the teams adjourned for half time. Their second goal was an honour to Tanganedzani Mulaudzi. He finished off a square pass from Zwidonaka Rudzani in the 40th minute.

Unarine Matamela of Fighters was warned with a card for a dangerous tackle in the 57th minute. The Eagles’ captain, Lucky Tsharame, scored the third and fourth in quick succession. Fighters looked hopeless after the Eagles’ fourth goal. The home side capitalized and scored the fifth through Hetisani Hlungwani nine minutes before the final whistle.
