Eight teams in Rendani Mulisa Tournament

 

Eight teams from Dzimauli and the surrounding areas will battle it out for the Rendani Mulisa Soccer Tournament championship this weekend.

The tournament will be staged at the Rambuda Young Fighters grounds. Teams that are gearing up for the event are: Rambuda Young Fighters, Tshandama Try Together, Lamvi Ficus FC, Matangari Uprising Stars, Vhutalu Mountain Rangers, Makonde Home Defenders, Khubvi Dangerous Darkies and Musasenda Big V.

Four of the eight teams, Rambuda Young Fighters, Khubvi Dangerous Darkies, Lamvi Ficus and Musasenda Big V, took part in the Tshikosi Off-season Soccer Tournament that was recently staged at the Makonde Home Defenders grounds.

The quarterfinal matches will be played tomorrow. The winners in tomorrow’s matches will meet in the semifinal stage on Sunday morning.

The champions of the tournament will take home a cash prize of R2 000. The runners-up will receive R1 500 and the teams booted out in the semifinal stage will each receive R600.

According to one of the organizers for the tournament, Mr Peter Chauke, only three players without registration cards will be allowed per team. According to the rules of the tournament, the players who do not have registration cards must not be older than 20 years.

Two local businesses, Mulisa Eating House and Rambuda Eating House, will sponsor the tournament.
