Final NFD matches

The affiliates of the National First Division will play their last league matches for the current season this weekend. All matches will be played on Sunday.

Not only shall a club that will gain automatic promotion to the Absa Premiership be known after Sunday’s matches, but even the two that will be relegated to the lower division will be made known.

Black Leopards will fly to Cape Town where they will lock horns with Vasco da Gama at the Parow Park Stadium. Leopards and Vasco have nothing at stake in the match as they are both perched somewhere in the middle of the log. The coach of Leopards, Mr Sello Chokoe, said that they want win the match and finish their league program with a bang.

The logleaders, Baroka FC, will host Milano United at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium. Baroka are three points ahead of the second placed, Highlands Park, and they need only one point in their match against Milano to gain automatic promotion to the elite league. Baroka are not in a good frame of mind following the two successive defeats within a space of five days.

After losing 0-1 to Mthatha Bucks last weekend, Highlands Park will host Amazulu at the Makhulong Stadium in Thembisa. Should Baroka fail to hold Milano to at least a draw on Sunday, Highlands Park must beat Amazulu by at least 5-0 in order to qualify for automatic promotion.

Santos and FC Cape Town will meet in their Cape Town derby at the Athlone Stadium and Witbank Spurs will host Moroka Swallows in Emalahleni. Thanda Royal Zulu will fight for points with African Warriors at the Umhlathuze Sports Complex in Richards Bay. Royal Eagles and Mthatha Bucks will meet at the Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg.

Cape Town All Stars will have a date with Mbombela United at the Kanyamazane Stadium in Nelspruit.
