It is do-or-die for United Artists

United Artists will participate in the much-awaited  provincial promotional play-offs at the Mahwelereng Stadium in Mokopane this weekend.

United Artists will represent Vhembe Region in the two-day event. Five teams from the five regions, Boyne Young Tigers (Capricorn), United Artists (Vhembe), Schinord Chiefs (Sekhukhune), Happy Hearts (Waterberg) and Nkowankowa Barcelona (Mopani), will take part in the tournament.

United Artists were crowned the Vhembe overall champions after beating Rabali Pull Together 1-0 in the final for the regional play-offs at the Rabali Stadium early last month. The boys from Lufule village will pin their hopes on their playmakers, Lucky Siobo and Thomas “Razor” Makhubele, while the team’s top goal scorer, Vutomi Ngomana, is expected to force the opponents’ defence to run for cover from the onset to the bitter end.

Artists' opening match will be against Nkowankowa Barcelona, with whom they will lock horns tomorrow (Saturday) morning at 10:00. Their second fixture is against Boyne Young Tigers at 14:00. Their last two matches will be played on Sunday. They will test their strength against Schinord Chiefs at 08:00, while their match against Happy Hearts is scheduled for 12:00.

The top two teams at the end of the tournament will be promoted to the ABC Motsepe League.

Mukula Young Santos represented the Vhembe Region in a similar event at the Giyani Stadium last year, but they did not win even a single match.
