United Brothers crush Wanderers 3-1

Mudaswali United Brothers were too good for Luvhimbi Wanderers and crushed them 3-1 in their Mulindavhathu Soccer Challenge match at the Khubvi Benjies grounds on Sunday.

It was evident from the onset that Wanderers were going to bite the dust as United Brothers were dictating the terms in all departments. Brothers threatened to score in the eighth minute. Their right flank, Divhani Neduvhuledza, received a neat pass from Pfunzo Malindi within the box. Instead of unleashing, Neduvhuledza hesitated for far too long to unleash and consequently he lost possession.

The wheel of fortune turned against Wanderers when their defender, Fhulufhelo Nyadzani, handled the ball within the box. The referee, Mr Calvin Nemavhola, awarded a penalty to Brothers and Zwanga Tshivhengwa converted from the white spot.

Wanderers lost shape in the middle of the park after the Brothers’ opening goal. United Brothers were leading by two goals when the teams adjourned for half time. Their second goal was an honour to Divhani Neduvhuledza, who blasted in a rocket from the edge of the box.

Wanderers took the game to United Brothers in the opening minutes of the last half. They reduced one through Khuthadzo Masimbane in the 57th minute.

Both sides effected two changes to their original line-ups in the last half. Wanderers lost their fighting spirit shortly after the replacements. That gave United Brothers time to increase the margin in the 78th minute. Zwanga Tshivhengwa forced his way through the defence of Wanderers before completing his brace. Realizing that victory was almost certain, United Brothers relaxed on the ball as a way to frustrate their opponents.
