Black Leopards’ top goal scorer, Roggert Nyundu, signed a three-year contract with the team and that refuted the rumours that he was returning to Polokwane City.

Nyundu (27), who joined Leopards in January from City on a loan deal, scored 13 goals that helped Lidoda Duvha qualify to play in the series of promotional play-off matches.

Polokwane City's boss, Mr Johnny Mogaladi, dismissed Black Leopards’ claim that they have signed the attacking midfielder. When addressing the media during the unveiling of three new signees at the club house in Polokwane, Mogaladi said there was no team that could sign a contract with Nyundu without their permission.

“Leopards' boss knows exactly that he himself came to me looking for help and asked me to give them Nyundu on a loan agreement until the end of last season. We have his return clearance. Nyundu must be here on the first of July. I don’t want to reveal the terms of his contract with us, but he will play for City."

He also added that they were building a team and in two years to come, "you will see Rise & Shine collecting trophies in the PSL. Don’t count us going to the relegation. When we unveil our new jersey, we will also unveil a new player."

Leopards spokesperson Barry Ramunenyiwa confirmed the signing of Nyundu and said that the same technical team as the previous season would be in charge, as well as coach Zeca Marques, who would be leading the troops.
