Another easy victory for Vhembe students

It was a feast of goals when Vhembe FET College FC walloped Mutuwa Brazilians 6-3 in their MMK Administrators' League match at the Makwarela Stadium on Saturday.

Brazilians were the first to find the net. Their opening goal came in the ninth minute via Rendani Nepfumbada, who scored a hat trick in the game. Nepfumbada was on target after receiving a beautiful pass from Tshimangadzo Makhamu. The Brazilians’ opening goal was an insult to the students. They retaliated nine minutes later. Ipfi “Muzi” Nemalili forced his way through the defence of Brazilians and unleashed from close range.

Nemalili turned the supplier when his side scored the third goal in the 39th minute. Mpheni Razwimisani gave the ball the final touch, following Nemalili’s square pass, to bring the half-time score to 3-1.

Brazilians approached the second half aggressively. They were rewarded in the 54th minute. Rendani Nepfumbada tried his luck from the 25-meter area. The keeper of Vhembe, Dakalo Mukwevho, watched helplessly as the ball hit the back of the net.

Ronetshedzwa Nemavhola of Brazilians was reprimanded with a card for a continued argument with the assistant referee. Takalani Negovha beat the offside trap and scored the students’ third goal in the 64th minute. Ronetshedzwa Nemavhola of Brazilians was given his marching orders, following a second bookable offence. He obstructed Fhatuwani Mathivha in the 67th minute.

The students scored two more goals via Talifhani Matange in quick succession. Realizing that victory was almost certain, Vhembe started to entertain the fans with their dribbling skills. They scored the sixth in the 79th minute. Innocent Mapholi beat the keeper with a ground cutter. Brazilians pulled one back through Rendani Nepfumbada two minutes before the final whistle.
