Leopards vs Cape Town in Nedbank

The last-32 draw for the Nedbank Cup was conducted at the Supersport Studios in Johannesburg last Thursday evening. Black Leopards have reason to regard themselves lucky. They will host another National First Division League side, FC Cape Town, at home.

The chairman of Black Leopards, Mr David Thidiela, said that the fact that they had won the home-ground advantage was a bonus to the team’s fans. He indicated that their aim was to reach at least the semifinal stage of the competition in order to restore the team’s lost pride.

When asked whether they had lost hope when it comes to the league title, Thidiela stated that winning the league championship was something that was still within reach. He further revealed that they wanted to do what they had done four years before, when they had reached the final stage of the Nedbank Cup.

The last 32 matches will be played over the weekend of 17-19 February. The other matches are:  Bellevue Winners Park vs Vasco da Gama, Bidvest Wits vs Free State Stars, Amazulu vs Lamontville Golden Arrows, Mpumalanga Black Aces vs Maritzburg United, Orlando Pirates vs Tornado FC, University of Pretoria vs Moroka Swallows, Mamelodi Sundowns vs Thanda Royal Zulu, Supersport United vs Polokwane City, African Warriors vs Maluti FET College, Bloemfontein Celtic vs Shining Stars, Chippa United vs Natal United, Phiva Young Stars vs Jomo Cosmos, Kaizer Chiefs vs Africa All Stars, Platinum Stars vs The Magic FC and Mainstay United vs Ajax Cape Town.
