Cash for the TD Challenge champions

 

The much-awaited final of the TD Soccer Challenge will finally be staged at the Tshakhuma Malaria grounds tomorrow.

The first semifinal match will be between Muthenga FC and Tshakhuma Peace Lovers and it is scheduled to start at 09:00. The second semifinal will feature Tshakhuma Blue Birds and Finale FC. This one is expected to start at 11:00.

Six teams from Tshakhuma village which are all affiliated with the Makhado Local Football Association are taking part in the tournament. The teams are Tshakhuma Blue Birds, Shooting Stars, Finale FC, Muthenga FC, Peace Lovers FC and TNN Academy.

The opening matches of the competition were played three weeks ago. Blue Birds proceeded to the next stage by beating Shooting Stars 1-0, while Finale were too strong for TNN and brutally walloped then 4-0.

The champions of the competition will walk away with cash prize of R1 500 and a floating trophy, while the runners-up will take home R1 000.

A well-known local businessman, Mr Takalani David Thaba, of TD New Look Electrical Construction, is the sponsor of the competition. Thaba is one of the founder members of the MMK Administrators Soccer League affiliate, Tshakhuma Na Ndilani Football Club.
