Express ready to destroy Winners Park

After several weeks of waiting, the Safa Second Division League activities for the new season will commence this weekend. Eight matches will be played at various places throughout the province tomorrow afternoon.

Joe Express will start the new season by entertaining their home fans. They will host Winners Park at the FNB Makwarela Stadium tomorrow afternoon.

Joe Express surprised all soccer fanatics by finishing their league programme within the top-eight bracket last year, despite the fact that it was their debut season in the Safa Second Division. Joe Express were an unknown quantity in the higher division last season and it is no wonder they were shining on top of the log at some stage.

According to the general manager of the team, Mr Ntsedzeni Phaswana, unlike last season, where their intention was to maintain their second-division franchise, their aim is to contest for the league title this season. Asked what they had in their showroom, Phaswana revealed that they have signed a number of experienced players who are expected to form a deadly combination with their homeboys, Dakalo Ratshitanga and Thembisani Nevhulamba.

Dynamos will test their strength against Mighty FC at the Nwamitwa ground. The Mopani derby between the newcomers, Bilika All Stars and Bellevue Winners Park, will take place at the Burgersfort Stadium. Lephalale Young Killers will play in front of their home crowd. They will entertain A1 Terrors at the Mogol Stadium in Lephalale.

Lephalale Young Killers escaped relegation by a whisker last season, while Terrors are the rookies. Rospa United will undertake a journey to Modimolle where they will lock horns with Modimolle Aces at the Ephraim Mohale Stadium.

The defending champions, Magezi FC, will play against Great North FC at the Peter Mokaba Athletics Stadium in Polokwane.
