Corsa Club SA is making a difference

These are not just an ordinary group of friends, but they are determined to make a difference in their community.

Formed last year, the 12-member Club Corsa SA in the Nzhelele area is fast endearing itself to members of the community. The group comprises professionals and businesspeople and is a spectacle to watch during community and government events.

During recent Youth Day celebrations, they made their presence felt when they spent the whole day with disadvantaged children at the Takalani Children's Home at Siloam. They didn't come empty-handed, but brought along food parcels, clothing and also shared a meal with the children.

The members of the club also engaged in different sports activities with the children and gave motivational talks.

Club spokesperson Tshume Tshindane said that they started off as friends helping each other in matters of life by encouraging each other in how to succeed. "We would go out on weekends with our cars just for fun, but also discussed how we could make a difference in our communities. We are here at Takalani to give the children hope that, despite the odds, they can still make it and be very important people in the community," he said.

The club's chairperson, Adv Rabelani Makhera, said they were still going to identify areas of need in the community and intervene. Dr Isaac Mulaudzi and Rev Talifhani Khomola also gave motivational talks to the children.

Pfuluwani Ramalala of Takalani Children's Home said they were very grateful for what the club was doing for the home. "We need more of such people with good hearts to partner us in caring for these children," she said.
