UAAC wants to improve lives of citizens

The United African Apostolic Church (UAAC) celebrated its 104th anniversary with huge celebrations at its headquarters at Makungwi-Ha Miriri on Sunday.

The church was founded in 1912 by Bishop Paulos Mureri.

Representatives from other churches, the SAPS, government departments, traditional leaders and dignitaries from different municipalities also attended the event.

According to the leader of the church, Bishop Elias Miriri, the celebrations were aimed at commemorating the achievements and milestones of the church since its establishment in 1912. The celebrations were also attended by dignitaries from both the business and private sector and people from the entertainment industry attended and entertained the guests.

“This church has worked so hard to change the lives of the villagers around Limpopo and outside. We have fought against poverty by implementing different community projects and we are still going to make sure that the lives of our fellow human beings are improved. It is our duty to unify the nation and we believe that we are still going to contribute more to the development of the community. Our mission is to save the spirits of human beings, but it is also important to cater for their physical needs. That is one of the reasons why our church is wholly involved in community development,” Miriri said.

Vhavenda King Toni Mphephu Ramabulana, who was accompanied by many senior traditional leaders, said it was the collective responsibility of the church, community structures and the SAPS to fight against crime and to prevent moral degeneration. "The traditional leaders are highly disappointed by the alarming crime rate, but we believe that the church will also assist us in building a crime-free community.” He also encouraged the community members to blow the whistle if they see criminal activities in their villages.
