Leaders congratulate Tshivhase with top results

Pupils and staff at the high-riding Tshivhase Secondary School received a big boost when political and educational leaders recently visited the school.

The school produced Fulufhedzani Mashapha, the best pupil in Limpopo during the past matric examinations. Mashapha attained distinctions in all her subjects.

The executive mayor of Vhembe, Cllr Tshitereke Matibe, Cllr Grace Mahosi, the mayor of Thulamela, Ms Beauty Mutheiwana, the acting head in the department of education, Vhembe education district senior manager Dr Gerson Rambiyana, Mailausumbwa Kennedy Tshivhase, as well as government officials and traditional leaders visited the school to motivate them and to congratulate the school on their achievement.

Mayor Matibe urged the school to continue working hard in order to keep the name of Vhembe on the map. "There is no time to waste. It starts today and I urge all Grade 12s to emulate what Mashapha did and make us proud as a district," he said.

Mashapha (18) of Mukumbani said that the pupils must use all their energy and work hard to achieve their best, while Mailausumbwa Tshivhase urged the school to continue working hard in order to keep the Tshivhase flag flying high.

The principal, Mr Fhatuwani Maselesele, said despite many challenges, such as a lack of resources, they were able to produce good-quality results. He urged the department to help them in terms of resources.

The group of leaders also visited Mbilwi and Thengwe secondary schools, who also did very well during last year's Grade 12 examinations.
