Muthambi opens new constituency office

The Minister of Communications, Ms Faith Muthambi officially opened the new parliamentary constituency office at Biaba a fortnight ago. The office will serve as a centre of information on government programmes to residents of the Nzhelele area.

The office was official opened under the supervision of a member of parliament, Mr Moses Tseli, and was attended by different traditional leaders, traditional healers, members of the community, different community structures and politicians.

According to Tseli, the central theme of the constituency work is to take Parliament to the people. "The ultimate goal of the constituency work includes integrating the work of MPs, MPLs, and councillors with the programme of the ANC as well as aligning Parliament’s oversight work with those of the organisation’s constituency work," said Tseli.

Muthambi warned office bearers of the office not to ask for people’s political affiliation when rendering service.  She said the office was representing parliament and it meant copies of the president’s speeches would be available at the office.
