An exercise in good relationships

The Elias Resort in Tshirolwe Extension 1 renovated the Matsa Clinic as part of a social-responsibility project in Matsa village in the Nzhelele area.

Some 25 workers from the resort and some key members of the management, in partnership with TE Ramovha Attorneys, fixed the doors and cleaned the yard at Matsa Clinic. They also donated 20 chairs to add to the wooden benches in the waiting area of the clinic.

The team had also planned and were ready to paint the walls, but they had to stop since it was realised that some patients might be allergic to paint. Other arrangements would be made for the walls to be painted.

“We are doing this kind of work as a gesture of working with local communities who need our help most,” said general manager Khathu Ramovha. “We have noted some concerns from the staff and, as such, we will see that we assist with what they have asked us to provide. This is only the beginning of a good, beneficial relationship with the clinic, which serves hundreds and hundreds of residents.”

A member of the Matsa ward committee, Mr Josias Muthuli, lauded the donors for the good work and said that the clinic had needed some renovation for a very long time. “If the government cannot do all things and meet the needs of all residents and villages at once, then people like the Elias Resort should be allowed to assist where they can,” he said. “This work of goodwill does not mean that those involved in it are taking over the work or duties of the government.”
