Hundreds of people gathered at Ngwenani village on Saturday to pay their last respects togogo Munzhedzi Nyambeni (81), who was buried at the Ngwenani graveyard. She recently died after a long illness.

During the ceremony, she was described as a pioneer, a born leader and a woman of vision. According to Ms Azwindini Mabilu, she was a good gogo who helped everyone, despite her circumstances. "We are saddened by her death, but we will have to accept it, because God’s will has been done.”

Her son, Mr Tshifaro Nyambeni, said that his mother was a very solemn, restrained and dignified woman. “For so many years, she served selflessly and faithfully in parishes throughout the country, and in those dark days she made herself available day and night to all who needed her,” he added.

Thovhele Vho-Ratshinyiwaho Themeli described her as a pioneer, a born leader and a woman of vision. He said the whole community gathered with heavy hearts, because she had been influential in the area.
