Chief John Masia.

New Chief for Tandavhalwe-Ha-Masia

 

Members of the community and several traditional leaders around the area witnessed the installation of the new chief of Tandavhalwe-Ha-Masia last Saturday.

John Masia is the new chief and a teacher by profession, .

Thovhele Vho- Nthumeni Masia officiated during the event and encouraged the new chief to carry out his duties as leader with dedication. He told him to refrain from bad habits, and stressed that political parties should respect the chiefs since they are the leaders of their communities. He said that members of political parties must not undermine the position of traditional leaders because that would cause instability and misunderstanding.

He encouraged the new chief to work hard but warned him against the danger of power abuse.  Mr David Masia was installed as the chief’s aid and Ms Julia Ratshibvumo Masia as his female aid.

The new chief said that was great day for his people and that he was aware of the challenges ahead of him. He said his immediate focus would be to engage the relevant authorities to assist in the development of the village. “We are quite aware of the challenges like water, electricity and roads in our area," he added.
