Theological courses in African spirituality

Prospective students who are interested in African spirituality will have a unique opportunity to study this topic in the coming weeks at a local venue.

The study takes place under the auspices of the Mukhanyo Theological College in KwaNdebele, which is credited at the North West University and provides training for certificates, diplomas and degrees in biblical and theological subjects.

Students are invited to enroll for this single module. The themes that will be studied on approximately 14 Saturday mornings include the following:  The nature and function of a worldview and traditional African worldview; the African vs Biblical knowledge of God; who the mediator is; the African and Biblical view of suffering; sickness and healing; witchcraft and the African and Biblical view of dreams.

Rev Isaac Maleke from Mukhanyo is the lecturer.  His lectures will be followed on DVD while well-trained Mukhanyo Distance facilitators will assist the students. All students who attend the module will receive a certificate of attendance.

Mukhanyo Distance enables students to receive relevant, high-quality, holistic, affordable in-service distance training in theology.  It provides biblically based training opportunities and facilities to church leaders for church and community development in Africa.  The course also develops church leadership and administrative skills in order to inspire kingdom vision and to support the growth and development of churches. An important aspect is to equip leaders, office bearers and members of churches to correctly understand and apply the Bible in their own environment.

Mukhanyo Distance invites everybody who is interested to attend the first lecture free of charge at 10:00 on Saturday, 28 March 2015. The venue is Theocentric College at Matsila Village.

The cost involved is R200 per module. A number of bursaries are also available, which will enable students to study for R100 per module.  This amount includes all study material.  Students follow by DVD the same classes that full-time Mukhanyo students attend.
