When Mercy Masakona Madzivhandila vanished from the music scene after releasing her fourth album, Dzina lawe, in 2009, many critics concluded that it was the end of the road for her.

That is, however, far from the truth, as the gospel star emerged with her fifth project early last month. The new release, Hashanduki, contains all the ingredients of a hit.

When asked as to why it had taken her so long to come up with her fifth album, Mercy stated that “it takes time to cook delicious food”. She stated that the delay was influenced by the fact that she wanted to come up with something that would satisfy the fans. Hashanduki comprises nine songs, including Muya wanga, Thank you, Faith and the title song, Hashanduki.

Mercy’s history regarding music goes back to the year 2000, when she released her debut album, Yesu wa vhuthu. It was followed by Haho No 1 and Haho No 2, which were released in 2003 and 2005 respectively. Dzina lawe followed in 2009, after which she disappeared from the music scene.

Mercy, an active member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, revealed that her debut album, Yesu wa vhutu, was the best in terms of sales. According to her, the new release is available at almost all local music outlets. She further stated that the demand for the new album was growing with time.

For bookings, Mercy can be phoned on 071 421 1272 or 083 479 3834 or contacted on Facebook at Mercy Masakona Madzivhandila.
